How your health affects others.
How your health affects others.
A healthy lifestyle doesn't just affect you but the people around you. The main message of 'healthy plate healthy mate' is that just because something is normal, it doesn't make it healthy. Often we measure ourselves against others and adjust our behaviour accordingly and in doing so we can end up slipping into a social norm of an unhealthy lifestyle. However the pendulum swings both ways and by making personal changes, and being vocal about the reasons behind your food choices you can influence the diet and behaviour of others. In essence helping yourself, helps others.
Lead by example.
By setting an example with your own diet, it encourages others to do the same. This can shift what is normal in your social group towards a healthy change.
Work as a team.
Find like minded people and make a diet change together. This can make you more motivated to maintain the change. You could even make it a competition.
